The Fanwood Community Foundation mission is to help where the needs are the greatest and the benefits to Fanwood and its citizens are most substantial and provide public spirited donors with a vehicle for using their gifts in the best possible way now and in the future, thereby providing for inevitable change.
The Fanwood Community Foundation owes its inception to four individuals committed to giving back to the community where they lived and raised their children. Bob and Carol Kraus, Fred Chemidlin and Ted Frankenbach had the idea to form this Foundation funded largely by their donations to better the Fanwood community that means so much to them. We are grateful for their initiative and generosity; we strive to continue the vision they had for the Foundation and the mission to meet the needs of the Fanwood community.

Thanks to generous donations from the community, the Fanwood Community Foundation (FCF) had a stellar year of giving in 2020.
The FCF raised more than $11,500 for the NJ Food Pantries, with $4,041 going directly to the local IHM Food Pantry in Scotch Plains.
In the spring of 2020, in response to the Community Food Bank of NJ's need for food due to Covid, the FCF launched a virtual food drive offering to match $2,020 and give that amount directly to the IHM Food Pantry in Scotch Plains. Thankfully, we surpassed the goal, and the FCF delivered a check to IHM for $2,020.
In November, leading into Thanksgiving, the FCF launched a second virtual food drive, "looking forward to 2021", this time offering to match $2,021. Again, thanks to the community, we surpassed the goal.
