FANWOOD COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Fanwood Community Foundation owes its inception to four individuals committed to giving back to the community where they lived and raised their children. Bob and Carol Kraus, Fred Chemidlin and Ted Frankenbach had the idea to form this Foundation funded largely by their donations to better the Fanwood community that means so much to them. We are grateful for their initiative and generosity; we strive to continue the vision they had for the Foundation and the mission to meet the needs of the Fanwood community.
NEWS and EVENTS
Scotch Plains Fanwood High School Project Graduation
Last week the Fanwood Community Foundation presented a check for $500.00 to Yvette Speranza and Michelle Cappuccio of the Scotch Plains Fanwood High School PTA in support of Project Graduation. Project Graduation is a celebration designed to combat alcohol and other drug use on graduation night. It is a lock-in chemical free event filled with fun activities given to the graduating class through generous support by their parents and our community. Project Graduation sends a clear message to students that alcohol and other drugs are not necessary to celebrate their achievements. The Fanwood Community Foundation strongly supports their efforts to provide a safe celebratory environment.
Support the Fanwood Community
Since 1998, the Fanwood Community Foundation has been providing support to local community organizations through the generosity received from you and your neighbors.
The Fanwood Community Foundation has received cash gifts from donors and bequests from generous individuals who have remembered Fanwood in their wills and trusts. The Fanwood Community Foundation is registered as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization allowing all your donations to be tax deductible.
These generous grants and gifts and the continued generosity of annual donations have benefited many local organizations. The Fanwood Volunteer Fire Department has been able to purchase life-saving apparatus, Fanwood TV35 has received updated camera and media equipment, The Fanwood Library has benefited and many important community services such as the “Tiny Tim Fund”, “Resolve” and “The Center for Women and Families” are able to continue their invaluable services for those in need. Supporting all of these causes is a great example of how endowment grants can have a positive impact on our community here in Fanwood.
We hope that you will support the Foundation with a contribution.
